When the Iraq war began, conservationist Lawrence Anthony could think of only one thing: the fate of the Baghdad Zoo, caught in the crossfire at the heart of the city. Highly Recommend.
Great narrator and inspiring story. I felt like I was there in Baghdad along with the zoo workers as they struggled to save these animals amidst a war zone. You won’t regret this purchase.

Important. Inspiring.
This book challenges us to consider our relationship with every other species and with the planet itself. We need to heed the author’s wisdom. Great story of an incredible feat.

Lawrence was a lovely writer.
Loved it. Such a shame he wasn’t able to write more books. I’ve read the elephant whisperer a dozen times and this is my first for this book. I’ll happily listen again.
