title is misleading

This book is closer to a rudimentary introduction to gardening. The author mentions microbes and fungi in passing but spends almost the entire book going over the difference between in ground, raised bed and container gardening. "Baisic Soil Science" is not the subject of this book.

What a great informative book!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Bruce has a way of breaking down soil science into manageable, understandable pieces. I have wanted to start my vegetable garden, and I appreciate now, the importance of the soil in growing nutrient-dense vegetables. I will be referring to this book often!
