About this listen
Skelm Island, Maine, has always been known for two things: lobsters and its broken lighthouse.
But when corpses start showing up in the water, the isolated town becomes the face of a cryptic investigation.
At the heart of which stands Lincoln Porter, a grumpy ex-SEAL whose lobstering business seems to attract more dead bodies than fish.
When homicide expert Detective Sloane is called in to assist with the case, she begins digging up skeletons; ones that Lincoln would rather stay buried.
Forced to work together, Sloane’s suspicious attitude and optimistic demeanor grate on the lobsterman’s nerves, resulting in a rivalry that’s as addicting as it is volatile.
But as everything unravels and they have no one else to trust, Lincoln and Sloane must depend on each other to figure out what secrets should be brought to light...and which secrets should stay hidden.
Be Still My Heart is a full-length, complete stand-alone featuring mature themes and content that may not be suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised.

Really loved this book!
4/5 Overall
4/5 Spice
The beginning of this book was a bit hot and cold for me. I didn’t find myself connecting to the characters until about 30% of the way through. I found this to be a bit more spice heavy in the beginning before the plot caught up – which is why it was a 4/5 and not 5/5. I’m not sure I fully warmed up to Lincoln, but I really did appreciate his POV more than Sloan’s. He seemed more like a detective than Sloan did – if you are looking for realistic depictions of police investigations, this is not the book to read. Because I wasn’t looking for a real-life crime story, it was easy for me to get passed that. The suspense was great from the middle right until the end, and personally, I was way off with who I thought the murderer was (don’t worry, I won’t spoil it). Once we get passed the hot and cold relationship between Sloan and Lincoln at the beginning, this book becomes a great combo of both spice and suspense. The banter is amazing and the narration for the audiobook was one of my favorites. Lilly Drake and Liam DiCosimo were amazing in this story – both of them made me fully believe they were actually our MC’s. I don’t know if I would’ve love it as much if there were different narrators.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! I am excited to read more of these talented dark romance authors. If you like spice, graphic murder depictions and a suspenseful story, you will love Be Still my Heart.

Flying eyebrows
Honestly I lost count how many times people's eyebrows "flew to their hairlines" and that alone drove me crazy while listening. The idea of the story was alright but I don't think the writing was strong enough. Also the main is supposed to be this great detective but tbh she seems kind of bad at her job.

I really enjoyed this!!
Amazing. I loved this book. I don’t understand why people give a bad review over random things but whatever to each their own.

My eyebrows shoot into my hairline.
I will projectile vomit if I hear that ANYONES eyebrows are jumping to their hairline ever again.
This horribly writing cemented McIntires place at the bottom of the barrel of writers.
It was obvious who the culprit was the entire book and I found myself even skipping steamy scenes to get through this. If I hadn’t gotten this read for free I’d be furious. I’d be ashamed to recommend this. As with many (but not all) McIntire books I’ve found the male narrators “female” voices and female narrators “male” voices cringy and distracting.

So corny
The story wasn’t great to begin with. Some of the lines are the corniest I’ve ever heard, but I could have got past it if there was a good narrator. The male narrator was awful to listen to.
