She's on the run...

Tessa has finally found a safe haven in Sutter Lake, hiding in plain sight - just as long as no one asks too many questions.

He can't escape...

Liam knows better than anyone how one wrong word, a single whisper can ruin a life. After seeing the darker side of fame, he's desperate to retreat and find his voice again.

Two people from opposite worlds, brought together by a connection neither expected.

But the forces they're both running from still lurk in the shadows...

And you never know when they might strike.

Overall, a good story

Overall, a good story. I think wouldn’t have laughed at the more serious moments had the narrators been more believable. The male narrator had the females sound like he was doing an imitation reciting an event to someone, and the males sounded as if they needed to clear their throats.

The female narrator was a lot better. However, I wish she didn’t make Tessa sound like she was broadcasting news on every sentence. As if she were beginning a new conversation/paragraph each time, rather than have nuance and progressive flow.

Very entertaining

I would definitely recommend this book. It has it all. Love, lust, suspense, a plot.

Loving Tessa & Liam

Tessa and Liam. These two - they just felt like they were so quiet and yet so loud in love! Does that make sense? Tessa, with her tragic past, has this quiet way about her and Liam is drawn to that as he tries to escape the Rockstar life and find some peace. He has this quiet strength about him that he lends to Tessa when she needs it the most and this friendship turns into this loud, burning love.

These two couldn't be further apart but I loved, loved how they came together. They started out as friends and then they become each other's safe haven. After that, it was a foregone conclusion that they would end up together. They couldn't not be - they complimented each other so well.
Their love is sweet, beautiful and definitely spicy.

I thought Catherine did a great job touching on the domestic abuse aspect of this story and in doing so, I think it endeared me to Tessa even more. I wanted her so much to have her happy ending with Liam, to see that she was amazing and loveable and strong and that Liam saw this in her.

Honestly, I loved this title. These two really did have these broken lives with these sharp, jagged edges and yet, in taking the time to know one another and to help each other in putting these little pieces back together - that is where the beauty lays.

Back in Sutter Lake - nowhere else I'd rather be. I love these characters and this town so damn much!

Again, Maxine and Aaron did an amazing job with the narration. I just love these two together!

A rock star and a girl in hiding!

“𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲.”

I didn't know what to expect with this one, but was pleasantly surprised! Tessa has been living in Sutter Lake for two years, hiding from a painful past, but she has built a safe life for herself, keeping her head down and not making connections, until in walks Liam, who is hiding in Sutter lake after he decides to take a break from the rockstar lifestyle.

I just loved Liam, he was so gone for Tessa and was just so sweet and charming. Tessa had such a strength to her, and I really enjoyed not only watching her slowly fall in love with Liam but also coming into her own and finding her voice.

The suspense in this one was intriguing and loved how Liam would do anything to protect Tessa! While this is a standalone, there is a bit of overlap with book 1 as well as the book Further to Fall, and would recommend reading those two first.

The audio for this one was fantastic, the narrators did such a good job and really enjoyed the flow of the audio!
