Publisher's Summary

This revised edition includes a new epilogue, "Coming up on Twenty-Five Years" since the entry of the Evangelical Orthodox into the Holy Orthodox Church. This is the story of a handful of courageous men and their congregations who risked stable occupations, security and the approval of life-long friends to be obedient to God's call. It is also the story of every believer who is searching for the Church. Where Christ is Lord. Where holiness, human responsibility, and the sovereignty of God are preached. Where fellowship is more than a covered-dish supper in the church basement. And where fads and fashions take a backseat to apostolic worship and doctrine. This is a book, for Orthodox Christians, looking for ways to bring new life to their own Churches. It's also a book for those completely dissatisfied - those on their own search. And it's a book for Orthodox Christians, looking for renewal.

A Familiar Path

Reading about their rejection in Constantinople was heartbreaking. Imagine being in their shoes. I was born into GOARCH an can attest to the Greeks' arrogance. It drove.me away from their culture and their church. It is because.of the coverts and their testimony that I came back to Orthodoxy. Fr Gillquist was among them.

A must read for every Christian

An excellent account of a quest for salvation towards a unity of faith. It further provides answers to common theological questions that every Christian would ask. It leads the reader to understand the Orthodox church as the one true universal and apostolic church that every Christian faithful should come home to. As an Orthodox Christian by birth, I learn to appreciate the gift that I was handed and how important it is to welcome those who were not born into the faith as we are all equal in Christ, and we all belong to His one church. It also sheds light of the centuries of damage the papal self-proclaimed infallibility and divisive innovations have caused. The evangelical congestions seeking the apostolic church need only look at Orthodoxy, the best kept secret in America. The Orthodox Church survived two thousand years of constant persecution, even to this day, yet remain unchanged, firm, and ever protected by the Holy Spirit.

Incredible Story

An amazing story of how over 50 church leaders searched diligently for over a decade for the historic new testament church. They and 2000 congregants were brought into the Orthodox church as a result. Incredible.
