About this listen
To the Green-Eyed Lovebird:
We met 15 years ago, almost to the day, when I moved my stuff into the NYU dorm room next to yours at Senior House.
You called us fast friends. I like to think it was more.
We lived on nothing but the excitement of finding ourselves through music (you were obsessed with Jeff Buckley), photography (I couldn’t stop taking pictures of you), hanging out in Washington Square Park, and all the weird things we did to make money. I learned more about myself that year than any other.
Yet, somehow, it all fell apart. We lost touch the summer after graduation when I went to South America to work for National Geographic. When I came back, you were gone. A part of me still wonders if I pushed you too hard after the wedding....

Totally wrong reading
The two people reading this were on totally different pages. He sounded self doubting and dorky and made her sound confident while she was constantly whiny and overacting and insecure and desperate sounding but made him sound confident. I had a hard time listening to this because the narration was so awful and I couldn’t grasp the characters or focus on the story because of it. The female sounded like she was constantly about to cry and the guy sounded like he was a total nerd, not the cool guy she describes. Maybe a good story but needs a do-over for audio.

Great story, didn't connect with narrator
By the end, I loved the story, but the male narrator really didn't connect for me, which made it really hard to get into it. I found him monotone and unemotional. The female narrator was great, and I almost dnf'd the book until she took over narration. I think I would have given this a solid 5 stars if I read it myself, but I can't give it more than 4 overall here because the male narrator really stole some of the magic for me.
