About this listen

Be careful what you wish for . . .

Lt. Grayson Masters is focused on graduating from the Apache helicopter course, and the last thing he needs is his gorgeous new roommate Samantha Fitzgerald distracting him. While her smart mouth and free spirit are irresistibly irritating, he can't deny their off-the-charts chemistry, no matter how hard he tries.

Having just been expelled from college, Sam has no business digging for Grayson's secrets while she's hiding her own, but that doesn't stop her from trying to tear down his walls. Each barrier she busts through drops one of her own, though, and she's not prepared for the truth: another woman laid claim to Grayson's heart long ago.

Falling in love is something neither Grayson nor Sam can afford, and when that line is crossed and secrets are exposed, they'll learn that sometimes it's the answered prayers that will put you through hell.

Contains mature themes.

Female narrator is terrible!

Story is great. Male narrator is always awesome on all books he does. The female narrator for this book is horrible. Not just the weird deep male voice she uses, but she keeps audibly swallowing???…makes me feel ill every time I hear it. 🤢 please re-record this book!

Book is fine, female narration not good

Wish I had read the reviews before getting this one because I agree with them the female narrator is not good. I am only partway through the book and cringe when it turns back to her chapters. The voice acting and emphasis she puts on words are just plain bad. I find myself thinking how it should have been read to get through those chapters.

Please re-record Sam’s ‘voice’

I’m sorry, I hate to be negative but I can’t finish listening to this book at all, it’s wrecking the characters. I think I have only made as far as 4-5 chapters and I’m moving on to the next book… hoping I’m not missing too much from the overall story lines.

What a deep story!

Love all the characters in this series. Grayson & Samantha’s love story shines. Grayson was such a strong, deep character with so many struggles to overcome. His tenacity and sense of honour and commitment was admirable. Such a supportive role he played in the friendship group as well. Definitely a good read!!

Enjoyed the story and the characters, except Parker.

The narrating almost had me stop a couple of times. When it was a "Sam" chapter, the narrating for Grayson was just, well, terrible. over exaggerated, and breathy, and just too much. why can't narrators (not just this book) read their characters part srart to finish and in every chapter..,? I just happen to be a person who needs to finish a book I start... I'm sorry I'm so picky.

Rebecca Yarros is my new favourite author,

When you think you knew what happened...

It's a good book with both predictable and non-predictable aspect. It's light and enjoyable. It's the third book of this série and the only difference was the feminine voice isn't the same as the 2 previous one and it's not great !!! I didn't like it at all.

Female narrator was cringey

Teddy Hamilton was great but the female narrator was awful. Her attempt at male voices was awful. Instead of picturing a young attractive man (as the characters were written) it sounded like an 80 year old man. Cringey!! Made it hard to really get into the story. Love Rebecca Yarros still.

Touching story

I had to listen to the female narrator on 1.3 X speed then return it to normal for Teddy Hamiltons performance. The story itself is amazing but I do agree that the female narrator’s performance was slow and tedious. Teddy was a star as always.

Female narrator made it impossible to finish book.

I couldn’t even finish this audiobook. The female narrator, Ojo so bad I couldn’t bear to listen to her. Her male voice was the worst. Teddy Hamilton should have done the whole book. Though I really like Rebecca Yarros I will avoid all books with Ojo. I couldn’t rate much because of her.
