A shattered love story is followed by a successful one, and Elena finally understands what happened to her under Maciel, and how to capitalize on each one of her scars.
Father Marcial Maciel (1920-2008) was also the founder of the order of priests, the Legion of Christ, and is considered to be the architect of one of the worst Church and Vatican scandals of the 20th century.
