About this listen
A forbidden, small town, sports romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Devney Perry.
A coach. A student. The rules were concrete. We broke them anyway.
The night I met Toren Greely was the night I learned how to lie. He was a Treasure State football coach. I was the star of the volleyball team. Coaches and students were forbidden. My future was on the line, so I told myself it was only one night.
That was the first lie. They got easier to tell after that. The lines blurred. The boundaries shifted. Our relationship became a game of its own.
A chaste smile. A knowing glance. A veiled touch or a hushed kiss. We hid in plain sight. We were invincible. Or so we thought. Neither of us saw the blitz coming until it was too late.
Game over. The night I left Toren Greely was the night I learned how to lose.

I really liked how the relationship developed between the FMC and MMC. It felt genuine and cozy. I didn’t love that her big secret was kept from not only him, but the reader until the very last chapter. It made it feel anticlimactic to finally discover what had her transferring schools. I also didn’t love that the story continued to flash back to the night they met. Like one or two flashbacks would have been plenty or have some of the flashbacks provide insight on what had our FMC moving to Montana. I liked how the story was interwoven with the plot of book one and that we got to see more of those characters. The story did have some really touching moments with the MMC’s family and dealing with loss/grief.

Amazing Story Telling!
aI loved the way their first encounter was woven in and out of the main story. The FL, although young, was mature beyond her years and the ML’s love for her was pure and kind. The secret was a bit of a letdown but fine. The drama was kept on an even keel and kept in the background of the love story. I really loved this book and will read the other two in the series.

Soooo freaking good!
I absoluetly loved that this is an overlapping timeline with Coach!
So freaking clever to give us another couple happening concurrently.
Clever, clever, clever.
I ended up loving this even more than Coach, and I didn't think that would be possible.
