Publisher's Summary

A dangerous game of life, blood, and survival.... Marquis Silivasi is a loner, an ancient vampire known to be merciless, harsh, and unforgiving. He has lived to see his dark twin sacrificed, his parents hunted, and the one soul he was sworn to protect destroyed by his enemy. When a mysterious female with a secret past shows up in Dark Moon Vale, her presence sets off a strange set of events: It is as if she has awakened the sleeping soul of the valley... and the curse of Marquis's birth. Bound to each other by primeval law, the two must forge their way through an ever growing maze of danger, deception, and destiny. They must find salvation in a world without mercy, where survival demands a chilling blood awakening.

Disappointed

I absolutely loved the first book but this second , nope didn’t like it very much. I could not like this heroine at all. I found her wimpy and way to easily in love with Marquis. But then I like a journey and yes I know their happy ever after had a big road block, which miraculously was resolved, blah blah blah! That bothered me too because I don’t like it when the author goes against a premise, a rule that is set down in the previous book. I am speaking of the zodiac sign that appears on their mates arm that designates them as their one and only. That Marquis would love the one who did not have this mark and treat the one that did have it like an obligation went against everything in the first book. How could he not love his destined one that the gods had supposedly given him? Marquis had no natural feelings for her and treated her horribly, I hate it when authors do this. I agree with the reviewer who said that skipping to the end saves a lot of disappointment. Having had my rant I will say I do love this author and will continue to read this series in the hope the author goes back to the tenets set out in the first book. The next one has great reviews so I’m looking forward to listening to it.
