About this listen
Many strangers we pass by are nothing more to us than blurry faces in the background of our daily lives. Occasionally, one of those faces will catch our attention. We invite them into our world, and sometimes, their lost soul reminds us of what it's like to be innocent.
Terrance Brown is a street-smart resident of a bad neighborhood who seeks an escape to a better life. Penny Lynn is a nurse who struggles to find her purpose after her dreams passed away with her closest patient. Alvie Gordon is a private investigator whose lifestyle has left him afraid and alone. When their pasts catch up with them, a stranger gets caught in the crossfire. They call him Bodhi. He's a six-foot-three mute with a child-like persona who wanders the streets with his shoes untied.
For this virtuous man to stay safe, the others will need to take them under their wings. For one of them to seek revenge, they'll need to teach him how to become a killer. They set out to bring a murderous psychopath to justice along with Bodhi and his closest companion - a stuffed toy crocodile.

unexpected
Well, that was far more emotional than I anticipated.
I reay enjoyed this, even though it had me getting really sad at work, haha. I listened to it- the narration was quite good.
Ok, first, there are some strange word choices and sort of odd phrasing. I think it could have used another edit? But otherwise...
What a nice book. Violent, gruesome, tragic and also a little funny and ultimately weirdly uplifting and heartwarming.
Well written characters, a fast paced plot (that was believable even though the subject matter was a little over the top) and generally solid writing.
I liked it a lot.
