About this listen

Book 2 in the DI Westphall series.

The body of a young boy is discovered at the bottom of a well that has been sealed for 200 years.

Yet the corpse is only days old....

Soon, similarities from an old crime emerge, and DI Ben Westphall must look to the past to piece together the dark and twisted events taking place in the present.

Ridiculous.

Very disappointing. SPOILER It feels like the author invented a crime that nobody, not even a borderline personality would commit and then added more into the mix providing zero motive for any of it. It's like he's never met or imagined a childless woman or woman over 40 before. The characters and writing in this series are fun and have potential, but someone needs to take this author aside and tell him he needs plausible crimes and motives for the series to work. Where was his editor in this?
