Publisher's Summary

From USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn comes a witty friends to lovers . . . turns . . . enemies to lovers romance.

Everly Plum is delighted to be heading up the Bridesmaid for Hire program at Magical Moments by Maggie. And when Hardy Hopper, one of their billionaire investors, approaches Everly for help with his friends' wedding, she's more than happy to step in. But Hardy has an extra assignment for her: his ex-girlfriend will be the maid of honor opposite his role as best man, and he wants Everly's help getting her back.

There's only one problem: Everly may have a tiny crush on the dashing businessman. But despite the way Hardy makes her stomach flutter, she's determined to prove herself, both as a bridesmaid and as a matchmaker. That is, until she finds her crush turning into real feelings. Not to mention, Hardy can't help but notice how well he clicks with Everly, and before he knows it, he's not looking for his ex's attention anymore.

But even after their simmering attraction finally rises to the surface, they will have to contend with meddling friends, poor timing, and professional boundaries—and the risk that no one might get a second chance after all.

Laugh out loud romance

I loved the funny banter of the two main characters. Absolutely adorable and laugh out loud funny.

clueless friends to lovers

I loved the first 3/4 of this book. It had all the banter and shenanigans you’d expect from a Meghan Quinn novel. I was laughing out loud and really loved all the characters. Where she lost me was the 3rd act breakup. One, having the big moment right at the start of the book as a flash forward, was a poor choice. Two, Hardy didn’t just fall into bed with Everly and then realize it was bad for business optics. Him being with her was premeditated and thus I have no forgiveness for the fact that he didn’t consider that his siblings would have objections. Third, screw what his siblings would think. If he was falling for her, and was an adult about it and told them, they would have both shared their concerns but ultimately would want him to be happy, which is exactly what happened after he decided to treat Everly like trash instead. In the real world, I don't think they would have ended up together after how badly Hardy screwed up. It would have been better if the miscommunication trope was something to do with Maple, and it could have been easily explained off, instead of the breakup trope that breaks everyone's hearts.
