Ghost story? Colonial allegory?

I am not entirely sure what I’ve listened to, but the prose was so rich I had to continue. This is a story that takes place over a weekend but also over a lifetime. It is a story of grieving, of ghosts, but also of relationships that are warped and twisted by the explorer, and the effects of a lifetime of trauma on a small family.

An amazing book I am really pleased to have had the opportunity to listen to this.
