About this listen
Since its hardcover publication in August 1995, Buffett has appeared on the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, Seattle Times, Newsday, and Business Week best-seller lists. The incredible landmark portrait of Warren Buffett's uniquely American life is now available in audiobook, revised and updated by the author.
Starting from scratch, simply by picking stocks and companies for investment, Warren Buffett amassed one of the epochal fortunes of the twentieth century - an astounding net worth of $10 billion and counting. His awesome investment record has made him a cult figure popularly known for his seeming contradictions: a billionaire who has a modest lifestyle, a phenomenally successful investor who eschews the revolving-door trading of modern Wall Street, a brilliant dealmaker who cultivates a homespun aura. Journalist Roger Lowenstein draws on three years of unprecedented access to Buffett's family, friends, and colleagues to provide the first definitive inside account of the life and career of this American original.
Buffett explains Buffett's investment strategy - a long-term philosophy grounded in buying stock in companies that are undervalued on the market and hanging on until their worth invariably surfaces - and shows how it is a reflection of his inner self.

Well written
I heard it on Audible. Though long, 18 hours, for most part, it is enjoyable. The writer provides a wonderful glimpse of Warren's personality and characteristics, which was intriguing.

A great book and great audiobook
I often listen to audio books while commuting, but I found myself often listening to Buffet well throughout the evening after returning home. Buffets life story is inspiring and Lowenstein does a fine job at telling his story. You dont need to be into finance to enjoy the story of Warren Buffets life, though it probably helps. Since the book was originally published in 1994 and there is no biography that captures Buffets life for the past twenty years, it was really nice that this version has an afterward from 2008.

It was really good.
Excellent performance. Inspiring story with just the right amount of details about certain business purchases. A good amount of Warren’s personal life story too. What a unique person I’m the history of the world.

It is not about money, but about life
You don't have to care about money or capitalism or business or commerce or the economy to greatly enjoy this book. This book is just about down-to-earth wisdom and incredible common sense. Warren is someone who is extremely knowledgeable about money and at the same time, he truly does not care about it. That is the combination that leads to so much great insight about the way life actually works. I enjoyed this book tremendously. All the anecdotes, all the tales, all the quips and little observations. I'd recommend it to anyone, not so they can pick stocks, but so that they can live life more fully.

Lots of great learning
Learned more about investing through this story than investing books dedicated to the topic. Loved this.
