Publisher's Summary
In this pulse-pounding short thriller for fans of Big Little Lies and The Last Mrs. Parrish, Maggie Cabot refuses to sit by idly as police re-open an investigation into the mysterious death of a woman her husband used to know.
After two decades in a near-perfect marriage, Maggie and James Cabot are enjoying their first year as empty-nesters in their charming Florida suburb, until two detectives arrive at their front door and change their lives forever.
The remains of a young woman have been found at a campsite in the Florida Keys. Hannah Nilsson, only 21 at the time of her disappearance, was last seen on a camping trip with a group of friends—including James, who dated Hannah long before he and Maggie ever met. Shocked and heartbroken, everyone on the trip said they assumed Hannah had wandered off toward shore, intoxicated from a long night of partying, and drowned. But the discovery of her body 25 years later, half a mile away from the campsite and buried six feet deep, makes it clear that her death was not accidental.
As the police dig back into the case, Maggie begins her own investigation, desperate to piece together the truth and clear her husband’s name once and for all.

A bite sized surprise
I thought it being so short that the story might not be that great but I loved it and the ending was perfect!

Felt like two hours of whining!
This whole book felt like a wife whining that her husband didn’t love her enough. I didn’t find it compelling or original, and nothing exciting happens.
At one point I just figured I’d move on, but it was short enough for me to finish. If you want to spend the time listening to something frivolous and without any depth than by all means.
I’m glad this was a freebie and I didn’t spend money on it.

Short but Sweet
This book was quick yes - but the end was exactly what I was waiting for.
Very well done, loved the ending. Impressed by the reader.
If you want something quick to listen to with a bit of a surprise ending this is a good one.

Creepy
The story of a woman who has a mid-life crisis when, her daughter away at university, her with too much time on her hands, a detective comes knocking about a murder her husband knew about that he didn’t tell her all about. In my opinion, the twisted ending has a huge flaw.

Hard to hear
I found this difficult to hear and follow. I was read a little too quickly without breaks as the subject or place changed. Stopped after a few minutes.

This was a great short-ish listen. I do enjoy Therese Plummer as a narrator.

Decent time killer
It was short and engaging. I second other reviews that find Maggie is very annoying and constantly whining. The narrator makes this story, she is one of my favorites.
