Influence: Science and Practice is an examination of the psychology of compliance (i.e. uncovering which factors cause a person to say "yes" to another's request).

Cialdini organizes compliance techniques into six categories based on psychological principles that direct human behavior: reciprocation, consistency, social proof, liking, authority, and scarcity.

damn great information.
Amazing info for anyone and everyone. I only ran into one minor annoyance. this recording was copied from a CD and every once in a while it'll instruct the listener to switch to the next CD. no need for alarm, the book continues on, shortly after this instruction.

Excellent book
Very well written great information made me a lot more aware of the tactics used against us for compliance. Now I spot them almost everyday but I'm immune.

Good material but very poor production
Others have already mentioned the annoyance of having a voice stop stop the presentation to tell you to change the CD. Besides that flaw twice the presentation repeated itself self sometimes for as long as 5 minutes repetition of what had just been said.. This is unfortunate because it detracts from the material that is being presented which is actually pretty good.
