Publisher's Summary

Andrew Wakefield reveals the inside story of the vaccine-autism connection, and his controversial research.

As Andrew Wakefield states in his prologue, “If autism does not affect your family now, it will. If something does not change - and change soon - this is almost a mathematical certainty. This book affects you also. It is not a parochial look at a trivial medical spat in the United Kingdom, but dispatches from the battlefront in a major confrontation - a struggle against compromise in medicine, corruption of science, and a real and present threat to children in the interests of policy and profit. It is a story of how ‘the system’ deals with dissent among its doctors and scientists.”

In the pursuit of possible links between childhood vaccines, intestinal inflammation, and neurologic injury in children, Wakefield lost his job in London’s Royal Free Hospital, his country of birth, his career, and his medical license. A recent General Medical Council ruling stated that he was “dishonest, irresponsible and showed callous disregard for the distress and pain of children.” Maligned by the medical establishment and mainstream media, Wakefield endeavors to set the record straight in Callous Disregard. While explaining what really happened, he calls out the organizations and individuals that are acting not for the sake of children affected by autism, but in their own self-interests.

we are thankful for the truth. many of us knew the truth but needed to hear this for ourselves. we are thankful to men like Wakefield who are courageous enough to come forward with this knowledge.

Must read!!!!

It’s a wonder why there is a growing distrust between the populous and the medical community. This book highlights the reasons we need to stand up and inquire. Stop putting dollars and cents of major corporations before the health and well being of the human population.

Excellent on all accounts

For those who have started to dig seriously into the vaccine issue, you will recognize Andrew Wakefield as one of the first and foremost whistle blowers with respect to the potential harm caused by routine vaccination. This book is so worth the read. Dr. Wakefield has been maligned, slandered, and insulted by mainstream medicine and media, and to listen to his side of the story is incredibly enlightening. It is heartbreaking that a physician who truly cares about the wellbeing of his patients (and I have firsthand experience to tell you how rare that really is) has had his reputation and career so tarnished by a political collusion of industry stakeholders to prevent the truth from coming out. I cannot emphasize enough how important this book is to read. The narrator does a wonderful job to boot,.

Blatant misinformation

As an adult with autism, it’s not a danger that’s to be feared it’s a difference in how we process the world. Vaccines do not cause autism, the dates merely coincide with the earliest time autism can be seen. And to consider autism to be worse than a deadly disease is frankly insulting. Wakefield lost his licence because he was spreading misinformation, he’s not a martyr he’s an ableist.
