About this listen
Nestled along the jagged edges of the Stormbound Seas, Thunder Cove was the kind of place whispered about in hushed tones by sailors over mugs of frothy ale. It was no ordinary stretch of coastline. Thunder Cove was a shadowy inlet shrouded in perpetual mist and battered endlessly by storms that seemed to brew out of nowhere. Towering cliffs loomed over its treacherous waters, and the skies above were almost always streaked with lightning bolts, illuminating the jagged rocks and tempestuous waves below. Sailors told tales of ghostly shadows moving along its shores and claimed that the thunder that rumbled across the cove carried the voices of the dead. It was said that no ship ever docked there and lived to tell the tale.
Yet, Thunder Cove was legendary for all its dangers for another reason: treasure. According to lore passed down over generations, the cove was home to a vast treasure that could rival the kings' riches. Gold coins from lands long forgotten, gemstones the size of fists, and artifacts imbued with mystical powers were said to be hidden deep within its labyrinthine caves. The treasure was rumored to have belonged to a mythical pirate known only as Storm Heart, a ruthless and cunning captain that even the sea seemed to obey his command. But Storm heart’s ship had disappeared one fateful night, swallowed by the cove’s storms, leaving only whispers of his fortune and the terrifying guardian said to protect it.
