About this listen
Once, Walt Lawson saved the world. Lately, he's lived in peaceful anonymity with his girlfriend Carrie. This morning, she's been kidnapped.
Walt has a single lead: the van that took her. Its trail points him up the coast to San Jose, where survivors have banded together against the gangs who've overrun the north. With the aid of a local guide, Walt homes in on the kidnappers, who are days from shipping Carrie far away.
But Walt's past is about to crash down on his rescue plans. For six years, Thom James has been on the hunt, blaming Walt for the death of his brother Raymond. Now that Walt's come up for air, Thom finally has a lead - and he won't stop until he's put Walt six feet underground.

This is the only one I haven’t liked so far
The narrator Ray Chase does such a great job narrating this series, I’ve spent 7 credits getting the whole series except for 4, I read the reviews and decided I’d skip it, as it uses characters who haven’t really been in the story so far.
That said, I did not care for this book. Where is Ness? Did I miss this much by skipping book 4? The narrator saved this book, because otherwise it was just people getting captured, escaping, killing enemies, and escaping again. . There’s something about the good aliens trying to do good that makes this so interesting, but the rest was sort of yawn worthy. Read it for Walt, as one reviewer said, but otherwise, I hope I like book 7 and 8 better. All in all I’ve enjoyed this series, though there are some spoil worthy things they better answer for me, like how did Mia survive the first bombing?
It occurred to me that I have completely skipped the last book, and now don't even remember if I finished it.
