About this listen
A disturbing package leads Detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott to investigate four dangerous murder suspects in this "magnetic" British mystery (Michiko Kakutani, New York Times) that inspired the acclaimed HBO Max series C.B. Strike.
When Robin Ellacott opens an unexpected delivery, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman's severed leg. Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but just as alarmed. He suspects that four people from his past could be responsible - and any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality. With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike has essentially ruled out, he and Robin take matters into their own hands and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them...
Career of Evil is the third in J. K. Rowling's highly acclaimed series featuring private detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott. A fiendishly clever mystery with unexpected twists around every corner, Career of Evil is also a gripping story of a man and a woman at a crossroads in their personal and professional lives.

"Robert Glenister is the man in this fine performance of Robert Galbraith's (aka J.K. Rowling) most recent detective thriller. Having narrated the first two books in the series, Glenister knows the main characters...." (AudioFile)

Robert Glennister
Robert Glennister. he has ruined me for most other Narrators. the BEST audiobook performer imho, it's so hard to find new books without him that catch the immersion into the story and characters as well as he does.

Incredible story, incredible narrator
I wouldn't have enjoyed this book as much without the superb narration of Robert Glenister. The story just comes to life! Gripping story until the very end. I was on the edge of my seat. On to book 4 because this series is that good. Highly recommend.

My favourite in the series!
I am a huge fan of the Cormoran Strike books, and I read them all before finding them on #Audible1. I’ve found a new appreciation for these novels since listening to them on Audible - Robert Glenister is the perfect narrator and I’m really looking forward to the new one coming out next week!
Career of Evil delves deeper into Cormoron Strike’s past as he searches for a deranged maniac that he may or may not have crossed paths with. A fantastically creepy storyline - highly recommend!

Strong stuff!
A very compelling story in audiobook. I had to force myself to "pause" & get back to work. Excellent dialects by narrator. Not ideal for the queasy or language-sensitive. Fun to remember places in UK where this Canadian had been.

3 Times a charm
This is the third installment for this series and it really does keep getting better.
I highly recommend this series to everyone. Its not just a private eye story. The character development continues as we learn a lot more about Robin and what drives her. I really enjoyed this book.

Hooked!
I love these characters and all their flaws. I want to scream at them to communicate! The suspense in this book kept me listening...#Audible1. Can’t wait for book 4.
