A nice walk down a path well travelled.

Nothing new for the series but still enjoyable to listen to. probably middle in the overall series for me but that isn't a slight.

Familiar and Comforting

Cain novels at this point are like the old Simpson episodes, they are not bad per say, but they're not good either, just familiar and nice for a comfort read. You will listen to the exact same side notes you have listened before in the previous books, the plot is predictable, and the characters act exactly the same as you would expect them to act, honestly halfway in if you had asked me which Cain book I am listening to at the moment I would not be able to tell you.

An uneventful read, but classic Caine Shenanigans

Very standard story that hits the same story beats than previous books in the series.

Fun, but not as entertaining as some of the other stories in the series
