About this listen
Christmas Everywhere takes you on an amazing Christmas journey. Our story travels around the world looking at how different countries and cultures celebrate Christmas. Did you think that everyone celebrates the same way you do? While some themes at Christmas such as family, generosity and celebration are constant, the way people enjoy Christmas across the globe can be very different
Did you know that: In the capital city, Caracas, Venezuela it's a tradition for people to roller skate to early morning Christmas Mass. The streets are even closed to cars to accommodate the skaters. In South Africa, deep-fried emperor moth caterpillars are considered something of a delicacy, and are served as a starter on Christmas Day.
In Norway, people hide their brooms on Christmas Eve before they go to bed.
In Central Europe, "Krampus," a mythical creature is said to punish naughty children.
These are just a few of the traditions we found around the world! Christmas is a magical time of the year. So, we’ve decided to take an adventure and travel the globe sharing with you the Christmas celebrations and traditions from different countries we visit. Our journey takes you through countries in the Northern Territories, Central America, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and Australia.
