About this listen
There's no question about it: your children are the most important thing in your life. But if you have gone through a messy divorce, your relationship with your children may become strained if you have to deal with a toxic ex. Your ex may bad-mouth you in front of the kids, accuse you of being a bad parent, and even attempt to replace you in the children's lives with a new partner. As a result, your children may become confused, conflicted, angry, anxious, or depressed - and you may feel powerless.
In Co-Parenting with a Toxic Ex, a nationally recognized parenting expert offers you a positive parenting approach to dealing with a hostile ex-spouse. You'll learn to avoid the most common mistakes of co-parenting, how to avoid "parental alienation syndrome", and effective techniques for talking to your children in a way that fosters an open and honest response. In addition, you'll learn how to protect your children from painful loyalty conflicts between you and your ex-spouse.

A must for anyone dealing with Parental Alienation
starts with some general parenting guidelines but once it switches to Parental Alienation it quickly becomes the best book out there for anyone trying to regain the love of their kids. Many tips on what to do and what not to do.

Great book with great narration.
This book is a treasure if you're going through separation/divorce and need guidelines on how to deal with your alienated child. I wish, I read it earlier and I'm planning to re-read again.

it's ok, it's available at the library
I bought it then checked the library. it's at the library the one book you can't return five minutes in. An icy grape, to swallow. other than that I would of rated five star.

Illuminating
This was a difficult and painful listen for me. Not only did the authors provide me with extremely useful parenting strategies for managing a toxic ex’s influence on a child, they also illuminated several of my own blind spots and exposed my own capacity for toxicity. I am grateful for the opportunity to have my faults identified and addressed.

Highly recommend
Highly recommend for any parent who is going through parallel parenting. With minimal to no contact from an ex partner with children.

Great advice
It was great for high conflict co-parenters. A bit hard to follow at times because the book has activities to fill out but otherwise it was amazing

I have read better
I found that the information was not the best or highly informative. It sounded better in the description than the actual read.

Not helpful at all
I was looking for a book to guide a separated or divorced parent help their child through it, after ending a toxic relationship. I was hoping that this book would shed some light on the tricky situation that many parents are in: managing visitations of their child with the other parent when the other parent is toxic in general.
This book, however, SOLELY focuses on dealing with the situation when after a separation or divorce, the other parent is turning the child against you or interfering with the relationship between you and the child. That is the only definition of the word "toxic" here. There is nothing else to find here. No deeper understanding of toxic people or parents, no mention of the fact that some parents can be toxic or damaging to the children when they are given more visitation time.
This book is merely a semi-functional manual on what you can do to undo the interference of the other parent in your relationship with your mutual child.
No depth in my humble opinion.
The narrator's voice and style didn't help either. It's a fast and rather chipper voice which doesn't suit the issue being discussed.
