About this listen
Evil doesn’t scream. Evil whispers…from the shadows. A child goes missing, then a gruesome murder is uncovered. A mysterious woman is tormented by a grief-stricken spirit.
A life is about to be ruined forever.
And a bitter, disillusioned psychic is forced to track down slim clues and confront past wounds to try and save those he once loved.
Joseph Collins had a near-death experience when he was 14 years old, after which his mother, who had committed suicide two years earlier, spoke to him. Doubted by his family and labeled psychotic, he lost that connection. Now, Joseph is 35 years old, divorced and resentful. He is also a professional psychic. Or is he crazy like his mother was?
An elementary school classmate of Joseph’s 12-year-old daughter has disappeared. Joseph’s dad is a Berkeley police detective and he and his partner are the lead investigators on the case. His sister, who he actually talks to, unlike the rest of his family, is a street cop.
Joseph’s beautiful new client claims to be hearing the cries of a female entity. Although she may be crazy, coincidences overlap and connections between this purported spirit and the missing girl emerge. After a murder is discovered, guilt points impossibly, yet undeniably, to someone within Joseph’s inner circle. Combative with his family and conflicted by his choices, he is compelled to follow the links, and his intuition, and ultimately risk everything to learn the truth before his world is destroyed.
