About this listen
The ultimate cure that could heal any disease? Crazy.
That's exactly what research scientist Marian Creighton has always believed about her father's quest, even if it does stem from a desire to save her sister Ellen from the genetic disease that stole their mother from them. But when her father falls into a coma after drinking a vial of holy water believed to contain traces of residue from the Tree of Life, Marian must question all of her assumptions. He's left behind tantalizing clues that suggest he's crossed back in time. Insane. Until Marian tests his theories and finds herself in the Middle Ages during a dangerous peasant uprising.
William Durham, a valiant knight comes to Marian's rescue and offers her protection...as his wife. The longer Marian stays in the past, the more she cares about William. Can she ever find her father and make it back to the present to heal her sister? And when the time comes to leave, will she want to?

By far, the best Jody Hedlund yet!
I’ve read all of Jody Hedlund’s books and this one tops them all. I thoroughly enjoyed it! An excellent story that kept me wanting more!

interesting idea but...
I like the idea of the time travel and how she tries to create a world where it could actually exist; however, I didn't think it was executed well. I'm a big believer in showing through character action and although there was some of this I also thought there was a lot that was simply just said rather than shown.
Also, sorry to the narrator, but I really was not a fan of her performance. It was difficult to know the difference between her narration and the main character. Her gentle voice was a little too soothing and dramatic (her inflection kind of annoyed me) for the basic narration of the book and could have been saved for character dialogue, but it was used throughout the entire story.

Disappointing
The narrator lost me. Most times I listen to a book in a couple of days, however I struggled to finish this one. It left me wanting more of the time period and not the history/ scientific points of the time period.
