It’s the artist’s age-old dilemma: follow your conscience or follow the cash. So when a canceled movie star reaches out to up-and-coming writer Ivey Viola to discuss a mysterious project, she uses the opportunity to escape mid-pandemic New York for his private island with her roommate in tow. However, once on the island, she realizes that the cost of working with the toxic, closeted actor might be more than she’s willing to accept...or can refuse.
In this satirical new play from Nick Jones, Complicity Island explores the business of “show business”, offering a radical, irreverent look at cancel culture, the Hollywood elite, and the real price of selling out.

Darkly Amusing Satire
Totally unexpected and moments of high humour in this dark, contemporary, satire. Ending was very twisty. Performances were good.

Lack of ending ruined it.
Voice actors did an amazing job! The story and the characters were all great! It really hooked me in...which made the lack of ending an even bigger let down than it would have if it were only a mediocre story. It just sort of stopped. I looked to see if there was a part two, but found nothing. Don't write half a story and try to sell it as a whole one. Really did not appreciate that.

Weird ending
Enjoyed the story. The plot twists were not a surprise though. The music gave it up. Good story. Well performed. I did not connect with the ending

Thrilling!
What an amazing piece of work. Great characters and a thrilling story. The hard left firm comedy to scary was something else. Nick Jones is such a good writer.

bizarrely relatable
a little weird to get into but evolves into mesmerizing reality. I actually could imagine who the story was about. glad I listened I want to read it again

Great ending
Don’t listen to that other review that says it feels like it ends in the middle. The ending doesn’t leave you needing more. It’s well timed and precise, with just the right amount of intrigue.
