About this listen
Faced with an overwhelming infestation of living dead on the US mainland, the US Pacific Fleet manages a strategic withdrawal of civilians and supplies. Aboard the USS Ronald Reagan, Dr. Henry Damico advises the remnants of the civilian government and military leadership on how to survive in a world overrun with zombies.
Meanwhile Henry's wife, Kelly, has spent the apocalypse on the front lines, caring for desperate civilians in a clinic defended by the military. When the military network of convoys tasked with retrieving refugees scattered throughout the city begins to break down, Sergeant First Class Carl Harvey must lead the last convoy into San Diego, and the odds are clearly not in his favor....

Fresh Work in a Genre Oversaturated-- Love it!
I love Zombie fiction. It's one of the only subject matters I never tire of. However, I mention the genre's oversaturation in my review title because I know there are many others who may feel fatigue with it. This book though, Convoy 19? This book does some great things in a very listenable manner. The way it handles governmental organizations and soldiers and even politics in a world of walking dead is actually super cool and appreciated. There are many moments spending effort to detail propaganda posters that I find fascinating as well, and I don't think many have really treated the zombie apocalypse quite this way... As if-- as if the zombie epidemic is...living astride a still-existing world of nations... Very cool!
This isn't just another survivor story of traitors and hopelessness, This is something different and worthwhile.
Would love to hear other works like this. Even others in a series.
