About this listen
In her 25th adventure, vampire hunter and necromancer Anita Blake learns that evil is in the eye of the beholder...
Anita has never seen Damian, her vampire servant, in such a state. The rising sun doesn't usher in the peaceful death that he desperately needs. Instead, he's being bombarded with violent nightmares and blood sweats.
And now, with Damian at his most vulnerable, Anita needs him the most. The vampire who created him, who subjected him to centuries of torture, might be losing control, allowing rogue vampires to run wild and break one of their kind's few strict taboos.
Some say love is a great motivator, but hatred gets the job done, too. And when Anita joins forces with her friend Edward to stop the carnage, Damian will be at their side, even if it means traveling back to the land where all his nightmares spring from...a place that couldn't be less welcoming to a vampire, an assassin, and a necromancer.
Ireland.

Enjoyable
i was pleasantly suprised. not only was the voice actor talented and offered a great variety of opitions for voices they kept an even pace the entire time and I didn't want to drift to sleep. the book overall was a much better story than most of her stories leading up to it. it actually leaves me feeling that there is hope for this series besides the non stop smut it has produced before this.
the crime story was focus instead of how many people she was or needed to fuck, the smut was hot as always but wasn't the only focus. a very refreshing change, along with the many world possibilities of introducing Fae into the world, I really do hope that it gets explorded further but since it is tied directly to Ireland I don't have high hopes.
overall this book did leave me with a rising hope that her stories will have **story** once more, hopefully the other novels carry this trend forward.

definitely not my favorite of her stories
well this isn't her weakest story this definitely isn't one of the best in fact it feels honestly like a filler book and that is been a problem with the last few books it seems like now that she's got rid of the one big bad in the series she is running out of ideas on where to take the series which is a shame because it's a fabulous series overall.

Sex sex sex always ruins this series now
The voice narrator seemed to forget when to drop the accent and called a character from the past a different name altogether but the accent issue is the worst liek she has trouble switching back and forth
