About this listen

Phoebe West has been head-over-heels in love with her brother's best friend for as long as she can remember. Not that he's bothered to notice. Despite several mortifying attempts at seduction and a decade's worth of unrequited pining, nothing Phoebe does seems to make any impact on the man she's obsessed over since her bra-stuffing days. She knows that it's time to let him go, though just the thought is nearly enough to shatter her.

Nathaniel "Nate" Knox has only ever seen Phoebe as one thing: forbidden. There's a darkness in Nate, the kind you can't avoid after years working in Special Forces and private security. He's no good for anyone, especially not someone as sweet as his best friend's little sister. He knows that he can't have her, even if she makes him feel things he barely recognizes.

Contains mature themes.

nicknames?

the nickname thing, seems to be a common thread throughout the series it is creepy and odd. Story is expected but still entertaining narration is meh.

Too much internal banter and brutal narration

This authors style seems to be consistent: lots of obsessive internal banter of the protagonist. She's slow to have the love interests connect and the build up is painful not suspenseful.

I'm not in the habit of stopping a book I've started but definitely took me a long time to get through this one

Best Friend's Little Sister Strikes Again

After the first book in the series, I wasn't sure it could get better. BUT it did! Pheobe and Nate are the most delightful couple and their slow-burn love that started when they were teenagers hits in all the right places. Throw in an abduction plot and a mysterious fairy godmother and this story has it all. The narration change wasn't the best choice IMO, but it thankfully didn't ruin eveything.

Would have rated 4

I would have rated 4 if the female lead character wasn't written to be so oblivious and naive. Knox is a great character though, and glad we got to spend some time with Gemma and Chase.

My fav of the series!

This was my fav book of the series. I liked the mix of drama, seriousness, with some wit and humor mixed in. The performance was spot on!

A bit dramatic for me

I found the main character a bit annoying, over the top and whiny. Perhaps over emphasized with narrator
