Publisher's Summary

Samantha Dugan and Abe Lally are best friends. They steal kidneys. They have their reasons.

Samantha is a professional seductress and con artist with a heart of gold. If she talked about her work, she’d tell you she only pilfers organs for medical research and that she only takes one kidney, and she only steals those kidneys from dishonest people. It’s hell on her social life.

Abe is the doctor and Sam's partner in crime. He isn’t much of a criminal. Except for the kidney stealing. But he’s using that money to fund his research that he anticipates will be able to cure diabetes. So, all for a good cause...? You decide. Of course, it's hell on his social life.

Cut and Run was performed by Meg Ryan, D’Arcy Carden, Sam Richardson, Rachel Bloom, Thomas Lennon, Ed Begley Jr, Eugene Cordero, Baron Vaughn, Carlos Alazraqui, Arturo del Puerto, Dustin Ybarra, Aaron Abrams, Ginger Gonzaga, Greg Santos, Oscar Montoya, Roberta Valderrama, and Shulie Cowen.

“Dynamite Lady”, an original song, was written and performed by Aimee Mann and Ted Leo.

Enjoyable

Loved the plot of the book. I enjoyed the going forward and back in time with storytelling. I found the narrators spoke very fast and almost in a cliche teenage way, which at first it sort of takes you by surprise but you get used to it afterwards. Overall, it was very nice listening to this book

Fun

Fun listen. Story moved forward quickly. Not very deep but that’s what keeps it moving. I will listen to more like this.

Really fun

It felt like a long Thrilling Adventure Hour sketch in the best way possible. The cast was excellent and the writing was really fun.

Great Narrators, Storyline is Lacking

I really enjoyed listening to the variety of narrators in this story. All the different points of view and personalities were a neat element. I did find that partway through the story it started jumping around. It felt as though the writing team had a time limit and just needed to end the story.

In my opinion, if you are just looking for a fun full cast listen this is worth a try.

Boring.

I love Acker & Blacker, but I found this story just didn't do it for me. The best part is Meg Ryan as the narrator.
