Riley Edwards delivers yet another emotional rollercoaster in the first installment of the Triple Canopy series spin-off, "Damaged." With five-star storytelling and a heat level that sizzles at a 3, this book promises to grip your heart and leave you breathless.
This novel introduces us to Brady Hewitt, a former Special Forces soldier haunted by the terrors of war, and Hadley Walker, his boss's daughter who is determined to break through his walls. As their forbidden love unfolds, Edwards masterfully navigates the complexities of their relationship, weaving together themes of trauma, resilience, and the healing power of love.
Hadley's unwavering determination to reach Brady surprises and captivates, drawing readers deeper into their emotional journey. Edwards expertly crafts characters who feel real and flawed, making their triumphs and struggles all the more poignant.
The addition of the audiobook enhances the experience, adding depth to the already powerful emotions portrayed in the story. However, the missed opportunity for duet mode leaves me again a slight longing for a more immersive listening experience.
As with all of Edwards' works, "Damaged" is a heart-wrenching tale that will leave you reaching for the tissues. The dual POVs provide insight into the characters' motivations, enriching the narrative and allowing readers to fully immerse themselves in the story.
With its blend of mystery, romance, and raw emotion, "Damaged" is a must-read for fans of intense, character-driven stories. Riley Edwards proves once again why she is a master of her craft, delivering a captivating novel that will stay with readers long after the final page.
