About this listen
They train to serve their country.
They strive to be the best.
But only a select few can be....
The Elite
Mateo Morgan
Call Sign: Solo
Reckless, arrogant, and bold, Solo is as known in the US Navy for his bad-boy reputation as he is for his skills as a fighter pilot. It’s a surprise to his peers, then, when he’s chosen to train and compete at the most prestigious naval aviation academy in the world.
Mission Rules:
1. Kick everyone’s ass.
2. Do whatever it takes to win.
3. Do your best to distract the competition.
4. Especially when that competition is a gorgeous blue-eyed perfectionist who makes your blood run hot.
Grant Hughes
Call Sign: Panther
Disciplined, smart, and confident, Panther can’t afford not to play by the rules. As the son of a top Navy commander, all eyes are on him, and being anything less than number one is unacceptable.
Mission Rules:
1. Keep it safe in the air.
2. Prove you’re more than Commander Hughes’s son.
3. No distractions. Stay focused.
4. Don’t fall for your competition - especially not the rebellious heartbreaker with lips made for sinning.
In the heat of the hot California sun, tempers flare and desires ignite as Solo and Panther try to resist their attraction while fighting to be number one.
With passion this intense, the question remains: Who’s gonna come out on top?

Rant than Rave-ish!
Liked the first book and just paid for the second one. I'm a bit disappointed they are only about 4.5 hours long. Why not put them together? Or at least box set it! I was glad to see they were on sale but even at 13.00 each and me being a stingy gal, it was hard to press that pay button. I definitely wouldn't use a free credit on something so short, and even 13.00 seemed steep for such a fast listen.
Why did I buy it, then? Aiden Snow!!! He always pulls at my ears to listen to his soothing, gruff voice. Christian Fox is great, too! I liked the story, even if it was a bit basic. The spice was OK. The actors made it hot, but I feel like there could have been more than what it had.
I was invested when the cliffhanger came (hence my buying the next book) and wanted to keep listening to Aiden. So, let's see if I cave and buy the third book.
Seriously though...Combine into one book!!!

Whoa Testosterone!
Whoa, testosterone! I'll be honest, and say that I struggled to get through all of the ego and superiority that these guys radiate. Honestly, their personalities are bordering on unlikeable. As for their relationship, I don't quite understand what draws them to each other other than their appearance. I will admit, though, that towards the end of this little pointless novella, they seemed to relent in their constant antagonism, and became marginally more likeable.
The difficulty with the characters and their romance aside, WHAT IS THIS BOOK ABOUT? Literally nothing happens, aside from Solo pursuing Panther and their attending an "Elite" class (in which, again, nothing happens). So, what was the point? Why did I spend $13+ on the audiobook? I just don't know. What bothers me, though, is that I gathered from the very abrupt and entirely predictable cliffhanger, that this trilogy is, essentially, one book that I have to pay for three times.
I was also bothered by the lack of setting or scene development and descriptions in this writing.
I've got to say, though, that the narrators for the audiobook are absolutely lovely. I will definitely listen to other books by them. And, it's very possible that I'll listen to the next in this trilogy just for their voices.
