About this listen
Once feared as the Dark Lord, I now seek a fresh start as a humble farmer.
Isekaied into a level 86 Necromancer-King's body, I leave his life of war behind in favor of peace in the idyllic Borderlands. Upon meeting the elven maiden Narya Summerdew and a razor-toothed half-elven child, the three of us form an unlikely improvised family in the hopes of remaining anonymous.
As we embrace the eccentric community of Gelderham, we find happiness in simplicity…But my past casts shadows on our growing bonds. How will Narya react when she learns her new husband was once the evil king set on destroying her people?
In this heartwarming tale of farms, villages, side quests, and level progression, unexpected bonds help a trio of charming characters learn the importance of love and family as secrets are unveiled and hearts are healed.
Dark Lord of the Farmstead is a cozy slice-of-life LitRPG. Enjoy a wholesome story fit for people who enjoy slow life fantasies with lower-than-average stakes and fun but flawed characters that you can’t help but fall in love with.

Story
Waking up adrift in an ancient battleground, Alex is left dazed and confused with no clue how she ended up trapped aboard a failing vessel. With only a mysterious voice in her head to guide her she must act in order to survive. Every piece of the puzzle she collects only leads to more questions about her origins and the star she's trapped around might not be as deserted as she first thought. All she knows for sure is that she could die at any minute, but Alex is not going to go down without a fight.

Story
In a blink, I found myself in an unknown land, greeted by the textbox of an unfriendly system. It wanted me to become a great hero, save the world, win the love of the people and all that crap. But this new world already had a hero. Why should I bust my ass, deal with dragons and the unknown, for people I didn't know? Let him deal with that. It's his job! So instead of being tempted by the system's nonsense, I chose a simple class. Potion maker. I wasn't interested in cultivating mana and defying the heavens, courting death, none of that crap.

Story
The usual result of a human taking a runaway semitruck head-on is a very sudden, very fast track to the pearly gates. But for one newly noncorporeal man, there's another option: become a dungeon. Feeling sorry for the desperate angel assigned to him, the man relents. Heck, if it doesn't work out, he can always chat with Saint Peter about it later. Next thing you know, he's a dungeon. Admittedly, a small run-down, somewhat unimpressive dungeon (more of a house, actually), but you gotta start somewhere, right?

Story
After fulfilling the duty all Arch Necromancers are tasked with, the last thing Sylver Sezari expected was to be reborn. He was usually the one reanimating dead things, after all. How ironic. But reborn he was. And after crawling his way back into the land of the living, he finds himself in a strange land, a strange time, and with a strange floating screen in front of his new face. Either through plan or chance, he’s alive again, and planning to enjoy himself to his heart's content.

Story
Ashlock wakes in the courtyard of a demonic sect... as a tree. A tree that eats people. An odd start to a new life. Almost as strange as the humans flying through the skies on flaming swords and challenging the heavens. After all, this is a world where humans could chase the goal of immortality through the art of cultivation. But Ashlock is merely a sapling in a desolate courtyard, left alone with his thoughts and unable to speak to those passing him by. Unless he does something about it.

Story
In just seven days, the world will crumble. The System's Descent will usher in a new era of chaos: wild animals mutating, monstrous creatures emerging, and the cessation of modern technology. Humanity will be left defenseless. Drew Wright knows none of this. At least not until he is rudely ripped from his bed and thrust into a white room to undergo a taser-happy ‘Tutorial’. Turns out, he is one of a thousand randomly selected people to be forewarned of the approaching apocalypse. Now, he faces the delightful task of convincing his wife and mother of the devastation hurtling towards them.

Story
Somebody once told a joke. A man ran in place all his life. He worked a job he didn't love for people he couldn't stand. But at the end of the day, the number in his bank account went up. That man got a second chance at life. He woke up in another world, one full of adventures and romances and monsters and gods. And floating above his head, he saw the number "1". So what did he say? "Gosh, I better make the number go up." Not today. Not for this old soul. Reborn as a beast of battle meant to live a short life and die screaming, Garek refuses.

Leo wanted to make something out of himself—and build dams. However, the world doesn't want dams. And it mostly doesn't want civil engineers. It doesn't want men who do any sort of building or fighting or grand design, it seems. So, when Leo finds his current girlfriend and boss being threatened by a brutal loan shark and all three of them get dragged through a portal to another world, it doesn't take long for him to decide this is the place for him. Plus, everyone has magic, and who wouldn't want that?

Very solid performance and decent story
Jonathan Waters and Jessica Threet deliver one of the best performances I've heard. This audiobook's story is fun and at times cozy with its content, which is likely what you're looking for from just reading the description. I really enjoyed this one. It's not corny or in bad taste at all. I think most people will agree this is a worthwhile title to engage with. Although I am not a fan of LitRPG or any of its D&D likeness, I think aside from that the world is interesting and the characters are effective in their roles.
Definitely considering on listening to the sequel and following up to the conclusion if this level of quality remains.
If this title didn't contain any of the 'system' nonsense that seemingly all fantasy novels are expected to contain nowadays, I would rate it a flawless 5/5 across all metrics. I don't think having an RPG system style progression element was necessary given the context of the story and its direction. The 'combat' doesn't feel like it warrants such a thing, either.

a great, wholesome, fantasy slice of life
it's an interesting spin on the usual isekai plot, where instead of going on some grand adventure, the mc immediately leaves the spotlight and settles down. the interaction between the two main characters is compelling, and a cute romance. I'm definitely interested to see where the series goes.

Very fun
Very fun and engaging story! Take a spin on the Isekai trope adding some farming/social game tropes, although I do feel like sometimes the Stardew-like system is a little heavy handed and takes you away from the immersion.
