About this listen
Before the battle of the SandWing queens; before the prophecy and the dragonets sent to save Pyrrhia from endless war; a long, long time ago...evil was born.
In alternating chapters this Wings of Fire special edition takes listeners back to the very beginning, when powerful, mythical dragons Clearsight, Fathom, and Darkstalker - the most dangerous dragon of all - were just dragonets. When the future was bright and uncertain, when no one had been betrayed or had their heart broken.
This is the origin story that changes everything.

Couldn’t stop listening!
My mom and I listened to this book together. It was awesome! We listened to it after reading Book 7. It made Moon’s talking to Darkstalker less confusing for me. It made Darkstalker a lot more ominous. I wished the audio book reader had a bit more expression, but overall it was great. I liked how the characters all had different voices.

A Fascinating Prequel
Darkstalker is an example of what prequels should be: a riveting story that provides new insights and sets up the series. Compelling characters, interesting themes, and a fun fantasy world make this one of the highlights of the already awesome Wings of Fire series.

Fantastic! Would highly recommend
Wow, this book is fantastic! It’s one of my favourites in the series. It was well written and McManus is the perfect person to voice all of the dragons! I love all the violence in WoF (And all the rest haha) So the SeaWing massacre and Prince Arctic’s death scene were a couple of my favourite scenes. Also, the humour is awesome, and makes me laugh every time! For anyone who loves fantasy, would recommend! (For people looking for book 1, the title is The Dragonet Prophecy!)
Probably my least favourite part was when everyone overreacted about Darkstalker’s use of his scroll, he should have carried on haha (I’m so biused with villains :P)

Legend Darkstalker
It is amazing! It is definitely my favourite book in the series and I think it is the most well written. I love all the characters especially Indigo, she’s pretty awesome and I LOVE BLOB. I really like how it alternated between three very different dragons throughout the whole story so you really understood they’re actions when you were reading about a different dragon over all it was an amazing book I love listening to it on my audiobook and reading it. It’s still so fun and exciting every time.
