Publisher's Summary

Returning early from a disastrous date night with my husband, I know something is wrong the moment the wheels crunch the gravel drive of our home. Inside, the TV is on and a half-eaten meal waits on the table. My heart stops when I find our little girl is alone in the house and our babysitter, Sasha, is missing....

Days later, when I’m arrested for Sasha’s murder and torn away from my perfect little family, I’ll wish I had told someone about the threatening note I received that morning.

I’ll hate myself for not finding out who the gift hidden inside my husband’s wardrobe was for.

I’ll scream from the rooftops that I’m innocent - but no one will listen.

I will realise I was completely wrong about everything that happened that night....

But will you believe me?

Twisted and absolutely unputdownable, Date Night exposes what goes on behind the closed doors of a happy home and the dangerous truths we ignore to protect the ones we love. Perfect reading for anyone totally gripped by The Wife Between Us, Friend Request or Gone Girl.

Didn’t see that coming

A good mystery with twists and turns. Excellent narration. My first from this author and intriguing enough to look at more work from her.

An Alright Book

The book started in an interesting way, but as the story went on it became a bit predictable.
The main character was too naive and overall a weak person when dealing with her husband.

I found the author went into detail about things that didnt even need to be brought up at all. Made it hard to listen at some points.

Another amazing story by Samantha Hayes with a blindsiding twist. This woman is so creative.

Don't bother.

It's hard to find any empathy for these characters.
Jumbled storyline and not a believable ending.
So disappointing...

Didn't Love this book

I was intrigued as to how the story wrapped everything together but I felt that the storyline fell short. I would not recommend this book.

This book could have used a good Editor

I am only half way through and honestly, I am so confused because of all the time travelling between past and present. I think with good editing, this book would have been quite good . Unfortunately, I found it difficult to follow the plot because I was busy trying to figure out if the storyline was in the present or in the past. IMO, the reader is so distracted figuring out the timeline that they don't even realize that the suspense is building. The editor should have just suggested the traditional chapter titles of "Then" and "Now" instead of having the MC flash back to memories when she is in the present. It is soooo confusing. Will give a final review once I get through the confusing time shifts in the plot

I have finished the book & unfortunately, my review remains the same...

Maybe the weaving in & out of timelines is intentional trying to evoke a "meta" feeling (ie make us feel as confused & overwhelmed like the MC) but honestly, as a reader, it just made me feel like the story was all over the place. While the twist at the end is completely unexpected...I feel like there should have been more "easter eggs" sporadically dropped throughout the story to make it more believable. Instead, the story felt like it was super confusing and then, "BOOM" big reveal: unexpected plot twist and then the story ends.

The only redeeming quality of this book was honestly the narrator. If I was reading this book, I probably wouldn't have finished it.
