About this listen
Seven hundred years ago, a Black Widow witch saw an ancient prophecy come to life in her web of dreams and visions. Now, the Dark Kingdom readies itself for the arrival of its queen, a witch who will wield more power than even the High Lord of Hell himself. But she is still young, still open to influence - and corruption.
Whoever controls the queen controls the darkness. Three men - sworn enemies - know this. And they know the power that hides behind the blue eyes of an innocent young girl. And so begins a ruthless game of politics and intrigue, magic and betrayal, in which the weapons are hate and love - and the prize could be terrible beyond imagining.

Favorite Book
This is one of my all time favorite books the story is amazingly intricate and incredibly simple .
The pronunciation of certain characters names was difficult for me to swallow at times but all in all a good audio book experience

Fave book
I love this book a ton. I had to get used to the reader because I had my way that the voices sounded...the two are nothing alike. But I have learned to enjoy it.

Amazing story, terrible narrator.
My husband and I have been trying SO HARD to get through this book. I've read it before and was very excited to share it with him. After listening to another audiobook series we were stoked for this one... except that the narrator is boring, boring, boring.
It almost seems like he doesn't understand what he's saying, or isn't reading ahead of his words: sometimes he'll seem to end a sentence and then notice there's more and read the rest, causing the sentence flow to be very disjointed—a habit that's understandable for a grade school kid but not a professional.
The intonation is monotone, the nuances of sentences are hard to catch, and honestly it's hard even for me, who already knows the story, to catch exciting parts and not drift into thinking about something else. We keep hoping he'll get better but we're more than halfway through and it's becoming apparent that each time we sit down is a struggle.
I've taken to reading paragraphs of the physical book out loud by myself to keep my husband's interest going in between audiobook sections, because otherwise funny parts don't seem funny and intense parts aren't that intense. But the best story in the world doesn't matter with an audiobook if you can't pay attention long enough to listen to it. #Audible1
