ok
I listened to this one just for fun, and as a break from the slightly more grim and serious stuff I've been into lately. It was a change of pace. Kind of corny, but cute and light and the setting is really fun. I like the idea of a paranormal mystery set in a home for the elderly. It worked surprisingly well! The characters were pretty ok for a first in a series, and the mystery was interesting.
My gripe, because I did listen to the audiobook, was the narrator. She sounded way too young to be voicing a woman in her 60s. Like, maybe in her early 40s, max? It threw everything off. She's talking about things specific to life as an older person, but she sounds so young, it is incongruous.
