About this listen

"My name is Mike Ross. I'm a Ferryman. I help people with ghost problems, or ghosts with people problems. Funny thing, no one ever helps me with my problems. Civil War ghosts bent on killing me, Skinwalkers who just want my body, and a vindictive spirit linked both to my bloodline and my destiny.... It turns out the dead still hold a good deal of influence over the world, and they don't want to give it up. I'm in way over my head. Fortunately, I'm too stubborn to quit."

I want to see ghosts

I'm a bernheimer fanboy. I resisted listening to this series because I liked d-list so much I was afraid I could end up disappointed with this one not measuring up. in my opinion d-list is better but this is just about as good. I liked character development and the story had me listening long into when I should have gone to sleep. I'm now really looking forward to the next book in the series.
this book follows the same path as d-list in the sense that it's "underdog makes good" that I liked but paranormal instead of tech and it didn't feel like a recycled idea in a different cover.
so that's for the story....
as for the performance?
kafer is great as usual. his voice, tones, and ability to voice a sarcastic and downtrodden character without making it tiresome is excellent. his voice work really helps draw you into the story and the protagonist. he's a perfect fit to read this book.
do yourself a favor and don't start listening to this at bedtime. you'll see the sun come up if you do.

consider this a review for book 1 and 2.
