Publisher's Summary

With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover, Eric Northman, and his "child", Pam, are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, Sookie is drawn into the plot - which is much more complicated than she knows.

Consistently amazing narration with a story that saved me from DNFing the series

After enduring the low point of this series that was book 10 I went into this cautiously, and it paid off! Sookie finally grows a pair and we get more focus on the fairy stuff (aka the most interesting part of the books at this point), all without sacrificing the integrity of the series’s ongoing vampire subplots. And of course, the narrator is the glue that holds this all together. I personally can’t imagine enjoying these books as much as I have reading them in any other format, she does such a perfect job

It's not the greatest, but still pretty good.

The only redeeming parts is that you get a great deal of the Faye. i thought that it's still necessary for the overall story for all the books.
