About this listen
A heart-pounding psychological thriller of how far someone will go to keep their secrets....
He has one gray eye, the other as dark as the deepest parts of any ocean. The often misunderstood Ronald Doolally lives his life as a single man with few attachments. After the death of his father, he hasn't a person left in the world. Until he meets Gertrude Liberal, who immediately shows interest in the odd stranger. The outspoken, natural beauty sees his distant demeanor as endearing.
Eventually wearing down his defenses, Gertrude finds a place in his heart against what Ronald would call his better judgment. He once thought of himself as being steered through life by a keen intuition, but that now manifests into something much more sinister.
As Gertrude unearths the Doolally family's secrets, she begins to question the man with whom she's found herself entangled. Who is Ronald, and how does he always seem to read people's minds? Will Gertrude's curiosity be her demise, or will Ronald be able to control his innermost thoughts once his secrets are unearthed?

A bewildering story
I don’t know how exactly I want to phrase this review.
The author was good but I felt so stressed listening to it when I had to remember all the names of so many random people also where they feature in this book. So many side stories that had your head spinning. Somehow the story of the main characters got lost.
However, once you recalibrate all your ducks in a row it was a good book just very confusing.
I do believe it went on overly long with many far fetched stories branching off to nothingness.
I did like the ending I think but I’m still a bit confused. However I did finished it.
The narrator was good. She worked with the material she had so that’s a plus.
I am very happy this book was offered on Audible plus so I did not use a Credit. Thank you Audible Plus.
