Publisher's Summary

A killer is playing cat and mouse...and winning.

DCI Whitney Walker’s in trouble. She’s threatened with demotion if she screws up another case. So, when a killer starts murdering female students, it’s a chance to redeem herself.

Forensic psychologist, Dr. Georgina Cavendish, has spent her life inside the university walls, but when one of her students is murdered, she steps out from behind the text books and puts her skills to the test.

The two headstrong women join forces to stop the killer. But sparks fly when real world policing meets academic theory, and it’s not a pretty sight.

Deadly Games is the first book in the Cavendish & Walker crime fiction series. If you like serial killer mysteries and psychological intrigue, then you’ll love Sally Rigby’s thrilling listen performed by award-winning narrator Clare Corbett.

What the critics say

"Narrator Clare Corbett flawlessly creates the accents and setting of Lenchester, England, while introducing Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker and her polar opposite, psychologist Georgina Cavendish.... Corbett's best creation is pathologist Clare Dexter whose eccentricities add a bit of levity. The well-rendered step-by-step procedural, with its gripping conclusion, makes for an exceptional listen." (AudioFile Magazine, review of Cavendish & Walker)

my new favorite murder mystery series

great start to a new series I can't wait for the night I could book. Clara's narration really brings the book To Life and makes it that much more enjoyable

I liked this!

I love a good crime thriller!

I had a suspicion between 3 characters and was able to narrow down my suspicion and was right! It was really well done and I look forward to listening to more of the stories!!! Keep the crime thrillers comin!

Great Story.. If A Bit Predictable

Sally Rigby's tale about a series of murders on a College Campus is twisty-turny, well-planned, and well-executed. I was able to guess the perpetrator fairly early.. but Rigby's use of Red Herrings, false leads, and plausible alternative suspects largely make up for deficiencies in obscuring the real killer.

Likewise impressive, reader Clara Corbett delivers a great narration. There are a couple of instances where Podium Audio engineers missed skipping in the recording, but sound quality and performance are otherwise impeccable.

I rate 'Deadly Games' a 9/10-star audiobook. I am grateful that I was able to get this book as a 'Plus' selection, because it will merit a Credit when they ask for one.
I didn't particularly *like* the protagonists (DCI 'Whitney Walker' and Forensic Psychologist 'Georgia Cavendish') mind you, but this admittedly imperfect book was good enough to prompt me to download further installments in the series.
