About this listen

What if everything she thought she knew was a lie?

Schoolteacher Rachel will do anything to protect her younger sister, Laura. So when their long-lost father shows up out of the blue and makes a shocking accusation against Laura’s husband, Rachel is thrown into turmoil.

As undeniable evidence surfaces, Rachel discovers everything she thought she knew was wrong.

Has her sister’s entire life been a lie? And how did her young niece get the bruises she is hiding? And who keeps calling her in the middle of the night?

As their father works his way into their lives, Rachel finds her ordered world slipping away. Already reeling from the breakup of her own marriage, she doesn’t know who to trust - her father or her sister.

One of them is lying, hiding a terrible secret.

Can Rachel discover the truth before it is too late?

Dear Sister is a gripping psychological thriller with a mind-blowing twist that will leave listeners hooked long into the night. Perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, K.L Slater and Ruth Heald.

A decent little who dunnit

I loathe Laura. What a “woe is me” woman. She is awful the entire way through. That is all

Didn’t love it just wasn’t my thing

I listened to the whole thing and I honestly just don’t think I enjoyed the characters I hated Laura and I just didn’t have a connection to anyone.

Dear Sister

Wow, how freaky was that. You don’t come across that often or at least you don’t hear about often.

77 chapters be prepared.

Wish it was cut down a bit but the author really spent time developing the characters. The plot twist was good.

Brilliant thrilling book

I really enjoyed this book and was hooked from the beginning to end.
Beautifully narrated and I enjoyed the twists and turns and unexpected captivating suspense.
I withheld 1 star since I believe the ending was Rushed. I could not believe at 25 minutes to the end there was so much to resolve still. Leaves the listener panicking to see if all bases would be covered. I think it still left questions open after it concluded.
I think writes should not rush through the ending and a listener questioning. Like one reviewer said WTH.! Thanks for the 2 minute Epilogue.
Having said that this book is a great suspense listen and I recommend it. Had me in suspense to the end.

Pretty good

I found the book to be interesting, and I enjoyed the narration. There were times where some of the characters grated on my nerves a bit, but perhaps that was just me. I enjoyed it

An average story

An OK story but I found the characters really annoying and adolescent regardless of their history

Repetitive and predictable

It wasn’t horrible, however, I kept holding out for the “big twist” that never really came.

Couldn’t wait for it to be over

Took me a while to get into this book. I felt the writing and the narration was choppy. Broken up into too many chapters that were continually read with pauses by the narrator. I did listen to the end. I’m glad it’s over.
