About this listen
Dear Universe…can you hear me?
If Pierra Calasanz-Labrador’s debut poetry collection The Heartbreak Diaries was equivalent to an “ugly cry”, this second volume is an introspective journey, a quiet voice longing to be heard. Like stumbling upon an introvert’s secret diary, these 50 poems chronicle fervent wishes, hidden fears, and everyday acts of bravery that may sound uncannily familiar.
Whether you are searching for a soul mate, battling self-doubt, clearing out skeletons in your heart, or trying to chart your own course in an increasingly judgmental world, Dear Universe is an astute, empowering reminder that you are not alone.

Worth a re-read (or several)
As a new audiobook reader, I had to adjust to the vocal performance, which is much different from the typical voice I use in my head. The delivery feels soft and comfortable, cushioning the sometimes harsh realities the poems convey. The poetry isn't hard and direct, but rather, it floats and lingers around until the message sinks in. The content is by no means overly complicated, but the simplicity of the thought is wrapped in likeable, relatable prose that seeps in rather than is hammered home. Do note that most of the poems, if not all, are taken from a female perspective, but many of the messages are universal. Recommended for anyone wishing to take a peek inside the secret thoughts, insecurities, and musings of their better halves (or would-be better halves).

Listening to it AGAIN
Love the poetry as well as the reading. Reader’s feel and interpretation of the words stayed with me. I would remember certain lines exactly the way she said them.
