About this listen
Lady Frances Ffolkes finds more trouble than expected in this second cozy mystery from R. J. Koreto.
Lady Frances Ffolkes is incensed when she finds out that her dear friends Gwendolyn and Thomasina have been subject to vicious threats. Promising to uncover their attacker, she travels with them to Kestrel's Eyrie, the fabled estate belonging to Gwen's family. But soon Frances faces an even greater problem, when Gwen's father, a powerful diplomat, is stabbed to death with his prized ruby dagger.
Frances, with her loyal maid June Mallow at her side, jumps right into interrogating the estate's numbered guests: a charming Turkish diplomat with a habit of sneaking off into the night, a brash American heiress with lofty dreams of becoming mistress of the Eyrie, two gossiping widows with their own scandalous secrets, and Gwen's own aunt tasked with keeping the affairs of the estate in order among the chaos of the investigation. But as the case unfolds, Frances' righteous conviction might just be the very thing that leads danger - and even more death - to her own doorstep.
Old sins do indeed cast long shadows in Death Among Rubies, a delightful closed-room mystery in the vein of Agatha Christie and the second in R. J. Koreto's effortlessly charming historical series.

A new series which I am thoroughly enjoying
I will admit at first I had a problem with the Narrator on Death on the Sapphire , but as I listened on, the story totally encompassed me and I thoroughly enjoyed it looking forward to the second book, Death Among Rubies. Fabulous, I’m now totally hooked on this series and anxiously awaiting the third in this series.👏☀️☀️☀️

Entertaining and fun
This audiobook is perfect for when you’re looking for something to listen to when doing chores. The writing/plot is interesting enough that it keeps your attention without being so complicated that it’s difficult to follow when multitasking. It’s also lighthearted enough that you don’t have to worry about listening to it in public or before bed. No graphic or deeply disturbing parts.

Intriguing mystery with threads of social change
Beautifully narrated by Justine Eyre. A wonderful second book in the series of Lady Frances Ffokes Mysteries. Looking forward to the next and many more. Love the references to history that brings on social change, acknowledging women’s independence and special relations with other women in service and amongst the suffrage movement. Would be a great TV series for fans of Gosford Park, Downton Abby, An Ideal Husband, and Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries.
