About this listen
What happens if the final for your freshman year is to take the hardest, deadliest test the Nexus Academy has devised for your skill classification? And then open it up for player-vs-player action where even your partners can gain skill points for stabbing you in the back?
It is time for Kaiden to grow up a little and play with a larger team to accomplish a three-peat. The only problem?
The test has been engineered to kill the players. What's a little blood between friends?
Who is Kaiden going to be teamed with? Which faculty will be betting on that team? Will it be Sasha, or will someone yank his best opportunity away from him?
Exactly what will Sasha do to acquire the team to beat?
Finally, can Kaiden accomplish something only hinted about the history of the Nexus Academy?
You don't become the best of the best by staying alive. In the Animus, you are closer to perfection with each death you suffer.
Kaiden Jericho would rather skip the death part, thank you very much.
Includes special note from co-author Michael Anderle.

Good book, too short
I would like to continue the series but the books are too short. I will continue if the publisher does a publisher pack for the books. Great job by Scott Aiello! Fun books and characters.

A great book, but to short
Like others have said! This series is a great book! But it’s very short, we need at least 4 more hours per book!
With all that being said! I love kaeden and his adventures with his friends
Please please please make these books longer! It’s to expensive to buy a credit just for a 6 hour book!

Worth the credit
I didn’t expect to feel so satisfied with these stories since I usually prefer a longer listen for my credit. I also tend to lose interest in a series after the second or third.
However I’ve been eager for the next book even on my second listen and having just started the fourth, the author impressed me again by switching things up in his writing style.

Too short, with an unfinished ending.
I started this series because the first book was included with my audible membership. I then purchased the next two in the series which make up the MC’s first year in the academy. These books should be made into a single purchase as they continue to get shorter. I looked at the next few books which seam to be shorter yet than the first three. I will return book 3 and keep book 2 as I think these 3 books should be for the price of 1. I will NOT be buying anymore in this series unless they combine three books in a set for the price of one.
The story itself is quite engaging. However, there are a few holes at the end of the books which they don’t fill at the start of the next. The character development is low regarding the MC’s relationships with friends and none existent with family and romance. There isn’t even a hint that anyone of the mixed gender characters even desires a romantic relationship. This quote suspect as when I was fresh out of high school and even university, this consumed much of my thought and much of my friends of both genders. I’m conclusion, if you you have endless funds and enjoy a predictable short story of mindless action and violence, this is the series for you. If you don’t, look elsewhere.
