For fans of Miranda James and Jenn McKinlay comes an enthralling series debut featuring a librarian who solves mysteries with the help of a ghost in the stacks.

Carrie Singleton is just about done with Clover Ridge, Connecticut until she is offered a job as the head of programs and events at the spooky local library, complete with its own librarian ghost. Her first major event is a program presented by a retired homicide detective, Al Buckley, who claims he knows who murdered Laura Foster, a much-loved part-time library aide who was bludgeoned to death 15 years earlier. As he invites members of the audience to share stories about Laura, he suddenly keels over and dies.

The medical examiner reveals that poison is what did him in, and Carrie feels responsible for having gone forward with the program despite pushback from her director. Driven by guilt, Carrie is determined to discover who murdered the detective, convinced it's the same man who killed Laura all those years ago. Luckily for Carrie, she has a friendly, knowledgeable ghost by her side. But as she questions the shadows surrounding Laura's case, disturbing secrets come to light, and with each step Carrie takes, she gets closer to ending up like Al.

I’m not usually drawn to the ghost stories genre
But I was looking for a new author and mystery series that wasn’t too graphic or filled with x rated sex scenes and this fit the bill. While some characters were a bit over the top at the beginning it did kept me entertained while I was doing my routine activities.

A light delight

Funny, at times sad, quirky and adventurous. I hated turning it off to go into work!

It was a great book

I really loved this book and the narrator. The ghost part is interesting but not overused. The mystery had some twists and a satisfying conclusion that made sense. I lion forward to continuing the series!

Wonderful cozy mystery

This is one of those books that don’t require too much thought but are something to listen while doing household chores. The lead character is annoying and the plot line was a bit obvious but the story and reading performance overall was engaging enough to be an easy listen.

Ok story, easy read

I was curious enough about the story to keep listening, but I didn't like any of the characters or some of the moral comments made about body weight and how women should or shouldn't dress. But besides the moral comments made by some of the characters, I just found the characters boring and unlikeable.

The story was entertaining enough, but I will admit I really really had a hard time stomaching the dynamics between the main character and Jared. It developed far to fast, and Jared is the worst haha

Those are my thoughts! I hope others listening to this will enjoy it a bit more :)

Entertaing, but Crappy Characters
