Amazing first hand account into death row!
It was a very eye opening and detailed look into how the justice system works inside death row.

Wonderfully Written
I loved the story and the insight it brought into a subject which is always controversial. This story has challenged my thoughts into a system that I was 100% against going into.

Misleading title.
The title of this book is very misleading. It makes one believe that it is about the Death Penalty, which has intrigued me for years. The book has some interesting Anecdotes but really no depth into the subject. The story is flooded with names of prisoners but the author does not go into too much depth. Also I wouldn’t have bought it if I knew there was so much about her personal life in it. I am not really interested in her tattoos lost loves or the grudges she has with the Texas criminal system. There are many repeated lines and ideas that are expressed over and over again. The author also seems a bit self righteous and frowns on ideas that might differ from hers. Also she did seem a bit xenophobic the way she discussed foreign reporters. The depth of the writing is just not there. I am glad it was a short read.
