About this listen

Monsters, gods, and mayhem....

Police Chief Delaney Reed can handle the Valkyries, werewolves, gill-men and other paranormal creatures who call the small beach town of Ordinary, Oregon their home. It’s the vacationing gods who keep her up at night.

With the famous rhubarb festival right around the corner, small-town tensions, tempers, and godly tantrums are at an all-time high. The last thing Delaney needs is her ex-boyfriend reappearing just when she's finally caught the attention of Ryder Bailey, the one man she should never love.

No, scratch that. The actual last thing she needs is a dead body washing ashore, especially since the dead body is a god.

Catching a murderer, wrestling a god power, and re-scheduling the apocalypse? Just another day on the job in Ordinary. Falling in love with her childhood friend while trying to keep the secrets of her town secret? That’s gonna take some work.

Performed by Colleen Delany, Henry Kramer, Amanda Forstrom, Karen Novack, Nick DePinto, Matthew Bassett, Terence Aselford, Richard Rohan, Jason B McIntosh, Holly Vagley, Lolita Horne, Michael Glenn, Chris Genebach, Jessica Lauren Ball, Faith Potts, David Jourdan, Kimberly Gilbert, Michael John Casey, Joy Jones, Scott McCormick, Tony Nam, Eleanor Todd, Jonathon Church, Ken Jackson, Lise Bruneau, Zeke Alton, Chris Stinson, Elizabeth Jernigan, Bradley Smith.

Thoroughly enjoyable series

Love listening to this in the graphic, audio format, but also really enjoy the characters and the linking of plausible real present day with fantasy characters. Looking forward to reading the rest!

Amazing 🤩 it’s like a movie in your ears!

I’ve only listened to a couple graphic audio books before but wasn’t a big fan it felt distracting. Yet this book I didn’t find myself distracted by the random background noise or all the quick changes, this book felt like a movie in my ears!

I think if I read this book I would have given it a 4 rather than 5 star ⭐️ because of the slower parts. Yet with the graphic audio the slower parts were filled in with character emotions.

The world they live in is very interesting, I had fun getting to know them. Humans unknowingly living in a small beach town with vampires, wear wolves 🐺 and geek gods. The sheriff in town and her younger sister know all about them and their family has been in charge of maintaining order. After their father died suddenly the eldest sister took on her father’s role as sheriff and the keeper of a gods power if one dies in their town well in human form.

There was murder, family, love and plenty of twists and turns.

The ex boyfriend being the one destined for the power seemed very obvious but the story was still good. The childhood crush breaking her heart you can tell has more to his story and he was forced to break up with her. The twin with feathers in her hair I feel was compelled by a vampire to do what she did since seemed to confess to everything and things seem to easy but we will see.

I’m hooked, I can’t wait to start the next one!

Good

This audiobook is perfect. It is a mix of detective and godly humour with the style of eureka, the tv series.

So good!

I was looking for something performed like the mistletoe murders and this is great. Cozy but action packed.

Love this series!

I have listened to other books written by Devon Monk, which I loved. These were in the free for members section and I thought for a free listen I may as well try it and I have to say I really enjoyed it. The full cast of charaters help bring the story to life. I found it really good. Definately a movie for your ears!
