The air is lethal in Altenbyrne.
There is no escaping the poisonous fog within the kingdom’s walls. The river is infested with deadly grinderfish, and creatures beyond the wall prey on those who venture out. To hide, they cross the treacherous Slaybyrne River where a ragged group of outlaws live. But Tristin isn’t satisfied with merely hiding while others still die from failing masks. He dreams of a better world. Using his secret God of Speed, he sneaks back into the city to steal life masks from the rich, a crime punishable by death.
